APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THE SPRING 2026 SEMESTER! Please check back in August regarding Fall recruitment. 

NOTE: Please read the below information carefully as requirements have changed from the Fall 2025 cycle.

EMSC is an opportunity for USC students to volunteer as Emergency Medical Technicians during on-campus events. Follow these steps to become a member.

RECRUITMENT ELIGIBILITY

(1) Applicants must have completed an accredited EMT-B certification course to be eligible for recruitment.

Applicants may be in the process of obtaining their NREMT or California State EMT Certification. These are NOT mandatory prerequisites, but must be completed upon acceptance into your probationary semester.

(2) Following the probationary semester, members are required to complete a minimum of 1 active semester. Applicants are unable to apply in the semester they are graduating. 

TIMELINE

  • Meet us at an Involvement Fair
  • Attend an Info Session
  • Take the Pre-Employment Exam
  • Send in an Application
  • Attend an interview with members of the Executive Team

*The EMSC Pre-Employment Exam consists of NREMT-style questions, similar to those from your EMT class and on pre-employment tests for ambulance companies. If you are unable to attend a testing date, email emsc@usc.edu to set up an exam by appointment.
