EMSC is an opportunity for USC students to volunteer as Emergency Medical Technicians during on-campus events. Follow these steps to become a member.
1) Complete an EMT-B certification course
In order to apply, you must have already completed an EMT course and be in the process of obtaining your NREMT and CA State EMT License.

EMSC is accepting applicants for Fall 2024! To apply, see our Fall 2024 Recruitment Timeline below.
- Attend an Information Session
- Friday, September 6th: 6pm on Zoom
- Sunday, September 8th: 6pm on Zoom
- Take the Pre-Employment Exam*
- Monday, September 9th: 8-9pm (Location TBD)
- Wednesday, September 11th: 8-9pm (Location TBD)
- Submit the Online Application
- Due Wednesday, September 11th at 11:59pm
- Applicant interviews with members of the Executive Team
- Interview invites will be released following successful completion of the pre-employment exam and the written application
- Upon Acceptance → Attend the EMSC New Employee Orientation & Mandatory Contract Signing!
*The EMSC Pre-Employment Examination Exam questions are NREMT style, similar to the questions asked in your EMT class and those found on pre-employment tests for ambulance companies. Please allow 45 minutes to complete the test. If you are unable to attend a testing date, email emsc@usc.edu to set up an exam by appointment.
3) Complete Probationary Semester
After applying, you must complete a probationary semester in order to achieve active status in EMSC.
Please read through everything before applying, as the probationary semester is a time-commitment equivalent to a 2-unit course!
