We’re excited to announce recruitment for the Fall 2026 semester! The recruitment timeline, application, and relevant dates are included below. Please read carefully.
NOTE: Please read the below information carefully as requirements have changed from the Fall 2025 cycle.
EMSC is an opportunity for USC students to volunteer as Emergency Medical Technicians during on-campus events. Follow these steps to become a member.
RECRUITMENT ELIGIBILITY
(1) Applicants must have completed an accredited EMT-B certification course to be eligible for recruitment.
Applicants may be in the process of obtaining their NREMT or California State EMT Certification. These are NOT mandatory prerequisites, but must be completed upon acceptance into your probationary semester.
How to Get Licensed in Los Angeles County
(2) Following the probationary semester, members are required to complete a minimum of 1 active semester. Applicants are unable to apply in the semester they are graduating.
TIMELINE
- Attend an Info Session
- 8/27 and 8/28 at 6 PM via Zoom (click the link here)
- Take our Pre-Employment Exam
- 8/31 and 9/2 from 8-9 PM at Leavey Library Patio
- You MUST RSVP to secure your spot to take the exam on ONE of the two dates above.

- Submit an Application
- Applications are DUE ON 9/4 BY 11:59PM. Please access the application here!
- Please note that any applications received after the due date will not be considered.
- Candidate Interviews
- 9/8 through 9/11
- Applicants will conduct interviews via invite. Further information will be communicated by email!
*The EMSC Pre-Employment Exam consists of NREMT-style questions, similar to those from your EMT class and on pre-employment tests for ambulance companies. If you are unable to attend a testing date, email emsc@usc.edu to set up an exam by appointment.
